Weekend Getaway to Shenandoah National Park

Hello Everyone, Pete here again 😊

I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday and were able to relax with family & friends, and had an opportunity to recharge the batteries 🔋.

Late October, me and my wife went on a short weekend road trip to Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park before the fall colors disappeared for another year.

For anyone who has not visited this national park, I would highly recommend it.

Shenandoah National Park occupies a narrow swath of the Blue Ridge mountain chain that runs through Virginia. The park can be accessed by one of its four entranceways, making Shenandoah convenient for folks visiting from our country’s Northeastern, Midlantic and Southeastern states. The main road, “Skyline Drive,” runs the length of the park north to south and offers magnificent views of the Shenandoah Valley from its many overlooks. And, for those active nature lovers and photographers (yes, photographers 📷) there is a network of hiking trails to explore its many mountain peaks and waterfalls. While I like to visit the park in the spring and fall seasons, Shenandoah is open all year round (barring no significant weather events).
